i’ve always been a natural sort of gal.

my photography first began to blossom (quite literally) on nature walks with my young children, as we would take our time exploring the simple yet profound details of God's creation along the way. i love to slow down, notice, and capture the naturally-occurring beauty in the world around us that we are often quick to pass by in our hurried lives.

as i have continued to gain more technical knowledge about my camera, this love has transferred over to portrait photography, as well - particularly children and families. i am not your average portrait photographer, however. my strengths do not lie in creating the perfect happy pose or color-coordinating outfits. those aspects are not nearly as important to me as capturing naturally-occurring moments, personalities, and relationships in my photographs. i love how these types of images reveal so much more heart and story than does a canned smile.

i do not have a studio and do not like to use flash - the outdoors is my preferred backdrop and the sun is my favorite light source. if you think i am a good match for your photographic needs, please contact me so that we can set something up!

as much as i enjoy photography, my family comes first. i have been married to a wonderful man for nearly 12 years, and we have four children - ages 9, 7, 4, and one due this summer! we are also privileged to live with the best cat on the planet, moses.
